As I’ve said before in earlier posts, comparisons of artists often leave the one being compared ‘falling short’ of people’s expectations and this can be detrimental to any artist. I can’t see Solange being a mainstream success but then again, I wouldn’t want her to be because she’d always be compared to her sister.
What I love about Solange is that she is just doing her she’s making music that she enjoys and it seems quite a few people enjoy it too. When listening to this, it is clear that Solange seems to feel comfortable in herself, in terms of her musical style. The TRUE EP has one of the most chilled out vibes of any collective music project I’ve heard.
